Sturgeon Lake First Nation MMA fighter prepares for Battlefield Fight League debut


Caleb Ermine has his boxing gloves prepared after signing the contract to battle within the Battlefield Struggle League (BFL). The 33-year-old from the Sturgeon Lake First Nation has been in coaching mode to arrange to battle towards a nationwide wrestling champion, Ozhan Yalcin.

“I simply need to … present my expertise one of the best ways I can towards this very robust opponent,” stated the combined martial artist, who will likely be making his skilled combating debut. “He’s a really robust man, his wrestling is excessive stage. Ermine travels from his reserve to coach at North Wake Martial Arts in Prince Albert a number of instances every week and in addition travels out twice every week to Saskatoon to coach at Alliance Martial Arts to amp up his wrestling expertise.

He has been boxing for the previous 10 years and received his begin competing after he gained in a Prince Albert boxing competitors referred to as R U TUFF ENUFF in 2008.

However the inspiration goes deeper than that. Ermine discovered that his late grandfather, senator Hilliard Ermine, who served within the Second World War, boxed within the military.

In return, Ermine hopes to make his late grandpa proud when he combats his opponent in a number of weeks. It’s a problem that he can’t wait to take up.

Whether or not he wins or not, Ermine stated it’s about testing his expertise on a giant stage.
