The Dolomites, in Italy, are a place unlike any other, with towering peaks, unique rock colours and shapes, and above all, a place that seems to change so much yet so little at the same time. Light and weather are key factors when it comes to creating stunning photographs at this UNESCO World Heritage site.
In this latest video from Michael ShainblumWe were taken to an incredible collection of locations and enjoyed the POV style of it all! Fresh from Ireland, Michael settled right in and got some incredible conditions, the kind we all dream of. Gorgeous light, inverted clouds, calm lakes and best of all, lots of hikers that not only complemented his shots but created the perfect sense of scale in this stunning area.
The time of year has a huge impact on the photos you can take. For example, I went to these exact locations in the middle of winter and couldn’t see any of the land below me, which is a shame because it’s not just the mountains that are stunning. The foreground can play a big part as the light plays on them and adds some much needed contrast. However, Michael was there at the perfect time, autumn/fall.
So grab your favorite beverage, turn on the big screen, and enjoy a cinematic journey to a location that I highly recommend you visit! It doesn’t get any better than this if you’re a fan of landscape photography!
