Stephen A. Smith appears on Diddy

On Tuesday, June 25, a clip from a recent episode of ‘The Stephen A. Smith Show’ was uploaded to YouTube. In the seven-minute video, Smith explains that Diddy “is making the news again… for all the wrong reasons.”

As The Shade Room previously reported, Diddy recently made headlines after deleting all of her content from her Instagram page. The move comes weeks after reports that a federal grand jury will soon hear his sexual assault accusers. Additionally, while deleting his Instagram content, Diddy deleted the viral apology video he shared after surveillance footage surfaced of him assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, in 2016.

“But here’s the thing… I don’t want to use the word ‘difficult’ or anything, but people would assume ‘stupidity’ on Sean’s part “P. Diddy” Combs,” Smith said before addressing Diddy directly. “My man, you deleted all the videos from your Instagram account!…”

Smith explained that if Diddy deleted 99% of his Instagram content, his apology video was the clip he should have “kept” — if he had been “sincere” about his words.

“You have almost 20 million followers on Instagram… the only reason I brought this up on this special day is because, Diddy, why did you delete that apology video?” Smith asked. “…Delete everything else [but] not that! You don’t want everyone to know that… you’re terribly sorry, right? That you deeply regret the egregious actions you were caught on camera?”

The host explained that Diddy’s deletion of the video could undermine confidence that he was sincere in his apology.

“It seems like you want to erase everything, as opposed to you want to take responsibility for everything,” the host added.

Social media has weight

Social media users took to The Shade Room’s comments section to react to Smith’s words.

While Instagram user @iykyk.iydknyk added: They might as well let him replace Wendy, the way he puts it.”

Instagram user @theanthonylindsey wrote, No one accepted the apology including Stephen A Smith, so why does it matter whether it’s there or not? We’ve heard it already. Does Stephen A go back and listen to it over and over again?

While Instagram user @loretta736736 added: Diddy can do whatever he wants with his IG account…leave him alone”

Instagram user @taecocky wrote, He doesn’t understand, we don’t want to hear him say nonsense 😂”

While Instagram user @cranklucas wrote: Who went and hid all the videos except one? And why does he need to continue his apology when we cannot accept it? laugh”

The host recently caught Flack for his comments about Will Smith

This isn’t the first time Smith has made headlines this month for his public comments. As The Shade Room previously reported, earlier this month, the host went viral after explaining that he believes “people still haven’t forgiven Will Smith” for slapping Chris Rock in 2022 .

Additionally, Smith explained that he would like to see the actor give an interview about why he slapped Rock.

In response, the TV presenter’s comments sparked reactions from social media users who asked him to stop speaking for the community at large and only speak for himself.

Ultimately, the barrage of reactions from those who disagreed with Smith caused him to step forward and seemingly delete his comments about Will.
