Star Trek: Resurgence Announced By Former Telltale Developers

Right after Telltale Games announced a game based on The Expanse At tonight’s Game Awards, a group of former Telltale employees announced that they have also boldly participated in an interactive sci-fi story based on a TV show. Dramatic Labs new studio announced Star Trek: Resurgence, a Telltale-style game about choosing your own adventure in the world of Luke Skywalker and Hans Solo. It looks like hella Telltale, and they even have Leonard Nimoy’s digital corpse. But man, the Star Trek story I crave is about downtime, not action.

Resurgence is set in the year 2380, shortly after TNG Star Trek: Nemesis, aboard the USS Resolute. We’ll play through a story of two alien civilizations on the brink of war, switching between two characters along the way: first officer Jara Rydek and engineer Carter Diaz. Along with your Telltale-y decisions, you also have Telltale-y’s action sequences and explorations, etc. It looks super Telltale-y, probably because the developers are super Telltale-y people.

Storytelling for People at Dramatic Labs consists of former Telltale executive Kevin Bruner, Batman and Game Of Thrones co-creator Brett Tosti, co-writer of The Walking Dead: A New Frontier, Dan Martin, Game Of Thrones and Minecraft: Story’s co-creative director Mode, Andrew Grant, and Game Of Thrones co-directed Kent Mudle. They all worked on more Telltale games than all of those games but you know, it’s impossible to list everything.

The Tales of Today are not the Tales of the Past, yes, they were rebuilt after investors bought the properties that were left after the studio collapsed. A lot of Telltale’s people were scattered all over the place.

As someone who still re-watches the old Star Trek series, eh, I don’t like this. The Star Trek interactive story that I enjoyed playing will be about B stories and the gaps between episodes.

I want to go around Ten Forward or Promenade and sink into everyday life. I wanted to gossip, flirt, get trapped in hijinks, be deceived by the Quark, learn to play the trombone or Ressikan flute, and hope desperately that this wouldn’t be the day I’d be caught by a boring Q. it’s really embarrassing to see how modern Star Trek focuses more on DRAMA and ACTION and less on the boring lives of people who are so fed up with luxury that they go on a journey of discovery up close. like military. Miles O’Brien’s endless suffering is what keeps me coming back. It’s odd that the most Star Trek-y Star Trek show in years is the cartoon, Lower Decks.

Star Trek: Resurgence will launch in Spring 2022 through the Epic Games Store. It will also be available on Xboxes and PlayStations. See its websitefor more information.

We’re staying up late covering the upcoming PC game from tonight’s lavish marketing: our hit Game Award tag everything.
