The Toyota Land Cruiser 2024 only started arriving at dealers nationwide about a month ago. I don’t even think I’ve seen one on the road. And someone tried to turn it on Bring a trailer.
One seller has listed a ’24 Land Cruiser First Edition on Bring a Trailer. Toyota plans to release 5,000 First Editions for the 2024 model year, and it’s currently the most luxurious car you can buy. It boasts features like special 18-inch wheels, round LED headlights and a 14-speaker JBL audio system. All of this can be yours for a while $74,950 MSRP. Of course, you wouldn’t pay that at dealerships right now.
Of the 550 Land Cruisers First Editions that I could find for sale nationwide today, just over 200 are priced at over $80,000 or more.
The seller on BaT must be one of the buyers who paid the higher price. Why else would you want to scrap one of the biggest auto shows of the year? Whoever bought this one apparently had no intention of using it, as the description said it only had 11 miles on the odometer. What makes this even more interesting is that the seller now has a lien on the Land Cruiser; They mention in the comments that it is leased through Toyota Financial.
There are now seven days left and bidding is only at $55,555. Like someone mentioned in the comments, this would be a good auction to watch as it could be an interesting economic indicator. Essentially, are people willing to reimburse the seller for whatever price they paid or meet whatever reserve they set? If this doesn’t come in below the original MSRP then it will be a failure and also a sign that some people may be past paying too much for something others have paid too much for .
