“Soft sculpting is an everyday alternative to traditional contouring,” says Sara Wren, Artistry Director at Milk Makeup. “Soft sculpting is not about changing the shape of your face, but about enhancing the natural bone structure to complement your face shape,” explains Wren. This delicate contouring is best achieved using creamy formulas that blend seamlessly into the skin.
For such a natural-looking effect, Wren prefers to use concealer rather than traditional highlighter or powder. “Try using a concealer one or two shades deeper than the shade you wear, swipe it downwards [your] cheekbones from the corners of the eyes up to the temples and along the jawline like a soft sculpt for a beginner,” she says. “I like to use the sponge or brush I applied my foundation to to blend to make sure both shades blend together seamlessly.”
