Smart #3 launches in Malaysia on July 10 – bookings open;  three variations;  up to 428 PS, 455 km EV range

The smart #3 will go on sale in Malaysia in just a few days, while smart Malaysia is counting down to the electric vehicle’s launch on July 10, 2024. The number 3 will join the number 1 in the brand’s local lineup and will reflect the latter’s lineup of variants, including Pro, Premium and Brabus.

Built on the Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA), the number 3 is the sister car to the number 1 but has a different exterior design. With its low, curved roofline, the No. 3 resembles more of a coupe-like SUV (cleverly calling it a ‘fastback coupe’), which will appeal to those who aren’t fans of the No. 1’s shape.

The dimensions are also slightly different, with the #3 measuring 4,400mm long and 1,844mm wide, making it 130mm longer and 22mm wider than the #1. The wheelbase is also 35mm longer at 2,785mm.

Regarding the powertrain, the specifications of each version are as follows:

  • Maximum speed: 180 km/h
  • Battery: 66 kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC)
  • Range (WLTP): 415 km
  • AC charging: 22 kW; 10-80% SoC in three hours
  • DC charging: 150 kW; 10-80% SoC in 30 minutes

Highlights include a 9.2-inch digital instrument cluster, 12.8-inch central infotainment touchscreen, panoramic glass roof, ‘CyberSpark’ LED headlights, 10-inch head-up display, ambient lighting and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

The #3 is now open for booking in Malaysia and the first 333 customers to sign up with a refundable booking fee of RM1,000 will receive an official smart souvenir worth up to RM1,500.
