The finale of the 2022 National Symposium and Comprehensive Moult, presented by American Thoroughbred Charity, welcomed the top five horses on October 15 after two days of preliminary competition to compete for more titles in front of an enthusiastic crowd and a worldwide audience watching via live stream .
A panel of judges who watched the whole day of competition ranked 10 winners to determine the Purebred Makeup Champion, sponsored by Churchill Downs. When the points were counted, the honor went to She’s A Bold One, coached by junior Jenna Denver of Imlay City, Mich.
She’s A Bold One is a 2018 chestnut bred in Kentucky by the Downtown Bloodstock Partnership. Via Boatman out of the mare Strong Provocative Bold Contender, She’s A Bold One is not highly rated, but is in the process of training and last working on January 12, 2021.

Denver said after accepting the trophy: “It’s still bizarre, but I’m so happy. “She went straight from event choice to costume, and she did it very well, and I think that stands out. The People’s Choice Awards, sponsored by Achieve Equine, are determined by popular vote in writing open to both live and streamed attendees. The award went to the Prince of New York, coached by Chris Bennings, the winner of show jumper as well as second place in show hunter.
