The Shade Room has launched its own e-commerce space to incubate Black-owned brands.
Since 2014, The Shade Room has prioritized the Black community, Black businesses, and Black culture by sharing Black-centered entertainment and showcasing brands that align with Black culture. Our audience consists of over 41 million Roommates across platforms. TSR aims to amplify Black stories and brands that could otherwise have slipped through the cracks of the Internet.
In keeping with the brand ethos, TSR has partnered with Florysh to provide a permanent marketplace to showcase Black businesses. TSR SHOP, Our new e-commerce platform is powered by Florysh, is a community-driven marketplace run by Black-owned companies. TSR . STORE The Shade Room connects The Shade Room’s dedicated audience with black and roommate-built brands across the food and beverage, beauty, apparel, accessories and home sectors.

TSR SHOP — Who Better To Tell The Story Than Us?
The marketplace offers stories behind black CEOs and brands that would otherwise have no platform to reach their larger communities, including businesses like Kahawa1893, Trade Street Jam Co., Abeille Creations by Artist Melissa Mitchell, Dungeon Forward, etc.
These and more than 20 brands will be available on the TSR SHOP on September 1st.
Angelica “Angie” Nwandu, founder and CEO of The Shade Room, originally launched the brand on Instagram, which has since grown to be cross-platform and one of the most visited media publishing sites on the Internet. According to Comscore, The Shade Room is ranked number one in the top 100 social brands. The Shade Room is also one of the top 25 brands on Instagram and one of the top 10 media publishing brands.
