Set a record of 120 entries for the OTBO Mixed Sale
The Ohio Thoroughbred Breeders and Owners Association (OTBO) is proud to announce the annual Mixed Thoroughbred Sale to be held at the Delaware County Fairgrounds in Delaware, Ohio on Wednesday, October 19. The sale. will start at 2:30pm. The grounds open for preview/inspection at 12:00 PM on October 18.
This year, there were 120 entries that set a record with many outstanding prospects. Weanlings, yearlings, 2 years old and parents complete the makeover of the category, with 74 crested birds and 23 weaners leading the way. The 2022 edition of the sale includes a dispersal of 36 animals from Ohio’s historic Mapleton Thoroughbred Ranch, who has been at the top of Ohio’s accredited program as a rancher and owner for several years. five.
The future is bright for the growing/weaning kids listed in the category, as some of them are half-brothers to the stake winners who have been successful both on and off the show. Ohio. Hip number 2 and 5 (both equal to Cowtown Cat ) is the half-brother and half-sister who are weaning recognized to have won multiple ratings and been ranked 1st, Special Reserve (from Mapleton-owned mare, Love Spun).

The Ohio Program hosts races year-round in three prominent locations—Jack Thistledown Racino (Cleveland), Belterra Park Gaming (Cincinnati), and Hollywood Game at Mahoning Valley Racecourse (in Youngstown). There are 43 shares held annually for Ohio breeds with a total of more than $3.5 million distributed.
