Sarah Fennel is the ultimate multi-talent in the baking world. As the creator behind Broma Bakery, a beloved online destination for delicious recipes and engaging content, Fennel has developed into a renowned baker, author, content creator, and recipe developer on a path that is anything but linear.
After graduating from high school, she moved to New York City to study anthropology at New York University. However, the transition to freshman life in a bustling city proved more challenging than she anticipated. Looking for a creative outlet to balance the rigors of academics, she started a blog, which eventually evolved into Broma Bakery.
What started as a humble space to recreate beloved family recipes, like her mother’s famous chocolate chip cookies, quickly grew into something much larger. Fennel’s passion for baking and sharing her creations became a driving force in her life. After two years at NYU, she transferred to the University of Michigan, where she found a new sense of purpose and direction, continued to hone her baking skills, and expanded the reach of her blog.
After graduating, Fennel worked briefly as a server at a local restaurant. Although she enjoyed the food industry, she felt that something was missing in her career. Driven by the desire to turn her passion into a career, she took another leap and decided to dedicate herself to Broma Bakery, turning it into a popular and trusted source of delicious, accessible recipes.
Over the past decade, Fennel has continually evolved her brand, keeping up with the ever-changing digital landscape. Her innovative approach led her to launch Foodtography School, an online course designed to help food bloggers improve their food photography skills. Today, she has amassed more than 1.3 million loyal followers on TikTok, who enjoy her recipe videos and behind-the-scenes glimpses into her culinary adventures.
Now, Fennel is taking her love of baking to the next level with the release of her debut cookbook, Sweet Tooth: 100 Desserts to Make Room forThe cookbook is available for pre-order ahead of its release on October 8. The cookbook promises to be a delightful extension of the Broma Bakery experience, filled with delicious desserts that reflect Fennel’s passion for all things sweet.
