India upgrades CoWIN to track all vax status

The Government of India is upgrading its COVID-19 vaccination platform, CoWIN, to digitally track people’s immunization status for common preventable diseases, including measles, rubella and COVID- 19.

According to one news, the focus now is on tracking children who are not getting any doses of vaccines and getting them vaccinated under the government’s Universal Immunization Program. The program targets about 26 million babies each year, providing vaccines for 12 vaccine-preventable diseases.

The upgraded CoWIN app, to be released at the end of December, comes as measles cases are increasing in several areas around Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Gujarat and Kerala.


Japan studies and deploys AI endoscopic diagnostic tool in Vietnam

Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications has kicked off a new four-month study on the potential for popularizing artificial intelligence endoscopic diagnostic aids in Vietnam.

NTU Singapore and Imperial College London recently signed a new strategic partnership to expand the scope of their collaborative research by establishing a new research centre.

Eka Care helps to fast track OPD token implementation in public hospitals

Patient health record app Eka Care has partnered with 11 government hospitals around Karnataka and Delhi to help accelerate the rollout of the OPD token as part of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission.

ABDM is driving the adoption of QR code-based OPD tokens to speed up patient registration in public hospitals, which previously took up to an hour.

Eka Care says it is on track to generate more than 100,000 OPD tokens per month at its partner hospitals.
