Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) has created an IT tool to monitor and improve the health of Scheduled Caste (SC) communities in Andhra Pradesh.

It was implemented for a project at E. Palaguttapalli SC in Chittoor district, where it was used to collect household-level health-related insights year-round and for an objective assessment of impact. of medical treatment and dietary advice for primary health. conditions.

The project also hosts live online sessions every other month, where special lectures on improving health are given.

Following this pilot, IIT Madras researchers plan to build a mobile application to digitize health status monitoring and mapping in SC communities.


AIIMS New Delhi uses digital for payments

The All India Institute of Health Sciences New Delhi (AIIMS New Delhi) will roll out fully digital payments at its counters starting next April.

Public hospitals and medical universities are setting up a smart card facility to enhance the patient checkout experience. It will be integrated with the existing payment facility with arrangements made for installment payments.

After the facility went live, no cash payments were accepted at AIIMS New Delhi counters other than its smart card. Recharge counters will also be installed at different locations within the OPD.
