Review of Fashion Week scandals that overshadowed Fab clothing
After Anna missed Giorgio’s Milan Fashion Week show in 2014, the designer spoke up. And while he doesn’t mention Vogue editor-in-chief by name, many assumed he was referring to Anna. “There are some people who prefer to skip the Giorgio Armani show and go to Paris,” he said, according to WWD. “She took a plane, turned down Mr. Armani and went to Paris.”
According to the newspaper, he later added, “Why should I always be the fool [translating from an Italian expletive] being punished because a person, for better or worse, likes or dislikes that person, has power? I feel punished. She said she was sending her people. But if you go to the dentist and he puts you in his assistant’s hands, what’s your reaction? They told me, ‘She went to see Privé in Paris; She doesn’t have time to look at ready-to-wear clothes in Milan. ‘ She was influential and powerful. But, perhaps, I am also influential. ”
In a statement shared with WWD, Vogue Communications director Hildy Kuryk said, “Anna has the greatest respect for Giorgio Armani and all he has done for Italy and fashion all over the world.”
“Unfortunately, with the fashion calendar now running for more than a month, there are a number of shows that Anna cannot attend,” the announcement continued.
