Refresh 2024 Polestar 2, Ford magnetic charging connector, wind and solar: Today’s Car News

Ford may be considering a new charging connector. The shift to wind and solar power is making electric vehicles cleaner, faster. And Polestar switched to rear-wheel drive. This and more, at Green Car Reports.

Polestar is looking for a 300-mile range for its Polestar 2, as part of the transition from the single-engine model to rear-wheel drive. There are many other improvements to the battery, powertrain, and tech features set in the refurbished 2024 models.

Ford has filed a patent for a new type EV charging connector using magnetic coupling. However, it is not inductive charging and uses magnets to help align and protect the physical conductors. Sounds a bit like the MagSafe connector you might use for Apple products?
