Redeem points for unique experiences with Marriott Bonvoy Moments

There are many ways to redeem points and miles for things other than airline tickets and hotels. One way is the Marriott Bonvoy Moments program, which allows you to redeem Marriott Bonvoy points for different experiences.

Some Marriott Bonvoy’s Moment there is a set redemption rate. But you will need to compete with other members through auction to get some experience. Marriott Bonvoy Moments Overview

There are four types of Marriott Bonvoy Moments:

To deliver unique experiences, Marriott Bonvoy Moments partners with several companies. These partners include American Express, Chase, Chicago Cubs, Madison Square Garden, Manchester United, Mercedes-Benz Arena, NFL, PepsiCo and Visa.

You can only redeem points for up to five experiences per calendar year, and you are limited to no more than two redemptions per event. Once those limits are reached, you’ll have to wait until January 1 of the following year.

Auctions and packages

You can redeem Marriott points for Marriott Bonvoy Moments in two ways: bid in an auction or redeem for a flat-rate experience.

For the flat rate experience, you redeem a fixed number of points for instant plan confirmation. For example, as we update this story, you can redeem 75,000 points for two to view Muse from the Marriott Bonvoy Luxury Suite at Madison Square Garden. To book a flat-price experience, log in and follow the on-screen prompts to redeem your points.

However, many Marriott Bonvoy Moments are only available in auction form. This means you have to bid with other members and hope you get the highest bid when the auction ends.

You can set a manual bid, which will automatically increase the current high bid by the amount of the bid increment. Or you can set a maximum bid that allows you to automatically outbid anyone else until you reach the maximum you specified. However, you will be automatically disqualified if your bid exceeds the number of points available.

From time to time, you may see Marriott Bonvoy Card Members Events, paid or free, when booked in advance. However, as the name suggests, they are reserved for co-branded members Marriott credit card.

1. Navigate to Marriott Bonvoy’s Moments home pageand find an experience that interests you.
2. Select “Sign in now.”
3. Enter your Marriott Bonvoy account credentials, then click “Sign In”.
4. If it’s a flat rate plan, select the quantity (if needed), then click “Redeem Now”. Or, if it’s an auction, enter your one-time bid and (if desired) the maximum bid you’re willing to pay before clicking “Bid Now”.
5. Complete any additional steps for a given plan to complete your redemption or bid.

All package redemptions are final. And once you’ve submitted a bid for an auction, you can’t go back and withdraw it. So make sure this is how you want to redeem your Marriott points before bidding or redeeming points.

Additionally, these packages are non-transferable unless otherwise noted. So make sure you can attend the experience before confirming the redemption or placing a bid.

How to rate Marriott Bonvoy’s moments

You may want to make sure you get a good deal when you redeem your Marriott Bonvoy points.

While you can recreate some Marriott Bonvoy Moments on your own, many offer access to unique events that aren’t available. As a result, it’s hard to really appreciate the Marriott Bonvoy Moments. A non-football fan might not get much value in exchange for a Manchester United package, while a die-hard fan could happily spend hundreds of thousands of Marriott points for a VIP experience.

With that said, you can estimate the value of these redemptions by looking at publicly available experiences. For example, when we updated this story, you could have redeemed 30,000 Marriott points for you and a guest to see Michael Bublé at the Avicii Arena.

We found comparable seats for 2,180 Swedish kronor per seat (about $210). As such, you will receive a redemption value of about 1.4 cents per point (more than TPG . Most Recent Valuation of Marriott points at 0.84 cents per person) by booking this experience in advance.
