A red warning for extreme heat was issued for large parts of Britain on Monday and Tuesday, when temperatures could reach 40C for the first time.
The Met Office is warning of ‘a particular heatwave’ […] resulting in widespread effects on people and infrastructure”.
It is expected to have “adverse public health impacts”, “not limited to those most vulnerable to extreme heat”.
