The team tweaked everything from the geometry to the electronics to get the eScrambler pitch perfect. The swingarm shaft has been moved, the rear shock mount has been changed, the suspension travel has been changed, and the rake rod has been increased. This car currently runs with J.Juan brakes equipped with ABS and an improved Gates belt drive.

The seat has been reshaped and fitted with new silicone foam, and there’s also a new and very discreet cooling tray underneath it. And although the mirrors, oversized fenders, and license plate holders are not shown in these photos, they will be shipped with each bike.

Powering the eScrambler is a 50 kW motor that makes around 70 hp and a top speed north of 100 mph. The predicted range is up to 90 miles, with a charge time of four hours to reach 90% capacity. The substantial amount of electrical components needed to run the eScrambler are all neatly packed under the bike’s fake gas tank.

But eScrambler’s big cash card is its charming, minimalist design that doesn’t change too much from the concept. Matthew was heavily influenced by the burgeoning customization scene when he first wrote it, especially bikes like the Yamaha SR500.

“Like the old Yamahas, I wanted to have a product that people would separate in 30 years,” he said. “I wish that people would update it with 2050 technology and styling, and in the process they say ‘wow, whoever designed and built it has really paid attention to detail. ‘.”

And this custom XJR, from Romanian custom builder Dezmembrez Moto, dials up to 11.

Nicknamed ‘Kojirō’ after the legendary Japanese swordsman, this 2014 XJR1300 is a modern, performance-inspired bike inspired by Yamaha’s iconic clutch bike. A big change has resurfaced, where the XJR’s traditional double shock setup has been traded for a single shock layout with a single-sided swingarm. The custom subframe is new, as is the Öhlins TTX shock absorber.

Up front is a Ducati Diavel fork, held by a pair of WSBK-spec forks from CNC Racing. The rudder also had to be modified to accommodate the larger bearings of the new system. There is also the appearance of Kineo spokes wheels, stopped by Brembo M4 monobloc brake calipers.

The fuel tank has been cut and reworked, and is complemented by a rear end pieced together from pieces of plastic from four different bikes. The headlights look familiar; it is liberated from the Ducati Scrambler.

Dezmembrez Moto also installed Lithium-ion batteries, case filters and lightweight Antigravity batteries, and modified the radiator. The exhaust is a custom-built Titanium, ending with an SC-Project silencer. Robymoto rear fork, and a Rizoma band and Motogadget parts, finish everything.

Honda NX650 Dominator by Berham Customs Based in Berlin, Martien Delfgaauw is the man behind Berham Customs, and one of the nicest people you could hope to meet. And, like many customists, he is also a recent person flat road convert racing.

Martien raced in the German series ‘Krowdrace’ in rookie class last year, on a KTM enduro bike. Loving the sport, he decided to build something more appropriate for this year’s series. “I had a 1994 Ruler in good condition with a working engine and tons of used parts in the workshop,” he told us, “so the idea was to quickly put something together in a pragmatic way. “

Martien took the bike down with the intention of slightly modifying the subframe as a starting point. But once the angle grinder hit the metal, he began to spiral down the rabbit hole.

He told us: “KTM has a bolted rear frame which is great for maintenance. “Since easy maintenance was my main goal for building the Dominator flatbed bike, that’s what I wanted for this bike as well. So the back frame of the Dominator had to go.”

With major changes to the frame, the choice of which fuel tank to use is also left open. Martien cut off a few old tanks he had left behind to mock them on the bike, eventually switching to a 70s Honda CB200. With a new tank, Martien started up. the overall design idea for the bike – something he never intended to do.

“I didn’t want a classic flat bike look, nor did I want to give it the look of modern flat bikes. So I had to find a stand-alone design that, of course, doesn’t sacrifice simplicity, maintainability, and usability. The core idea is: what could a European flat bike look like, without any prototypes from the pond? “

Keeping this theme alive, Martien built a new rear fender, shaped on a part that, ironically, comes from Maier in the US. It’s a unique look that, along with the petite Honda tank, finishes off the racing saddle nicely.

Martien also puts work on Dominator’s running device. There’s a YSS rear shock (fitted after these photos), with a Yamaha R6 fork up front, with adjustable travel height at both ends. Marvin Diehl at KRT Framework modified the Yamaha upper fork to fit the Honda and adopted an LSL handlebar.

The 19” wheels are a mixed bag; a KTM hub at the front, a Honda hub at the rear, DID rims and Mitas tyres. Martien had to extend the swingarm to force the larger rear wheel in.

The bike was also rewound, and the carburetor was replaced with a Mikuni part. WB Exhaust in Italy supplied the silencer, which sits at the end of the modified Honda race car title set. Martien also fitted an oil drain valve from Stahlbus for ease of maintenance.

Parts like the footpegs and carbon fiber number plate are all made in-house. As for the chic lip color, there’s also Martien, equipped with a spray bottle and some stencils. As the title implies, the film itself is abstract – but it’s also a great way to see Zero XP in action, set against the backdrop of some stunning visuals.
