Prince Harry & Duchess Meghan adopt one of 4,000 Beagles freed from abusive breeding facility

When you’re a dog lover, you treat your pet like royalty. But a Beagle mother named Mia, who was recently rescued from an abusive livestock facility in Virginia, will now live with really royalties.

Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, are looking for another Beagle to complete their family. Now, they’ve opened their hearts and their homes to a sweet new addition.

Earlier this summer, 4,000 Beagles were freed from a horribly abused breeding facility in Cumberland, Virginia. Not only did they breed sweet, innocent Beagles to sell to labs for animal testing, but investigators discovered dozens of animal rights violations. Hundreds of puppies have died of “unknown causes”, their food dispensers are full of insects and they are crammed in filthy kennels.

Due to their poor living conditions and lack of proper temperature control (allowing temperatures above 85 degrees for more than 5 hours a day), many dogs have experienced irritability, lethargy and stress. Some dogs experience eye discomfort, resistance to wounds, serious dental disease, and inflamed paws. They are all really living a terrible, abusive life.

This is exactly why Harry and Meghan are so interested in adopting their mother’s dog Mia. They are specifically set up to rescue a dog with a troubled past, a past that will be harder. They know puppies find homes quickly and want to make life as easy as possible for an older dog that hasn’t had the easiest time.

When they heard her story, they knew they wanted to adopt Mia, a 7-year-old mother of 8 children. And then, in the face-to-face meeting and greeting, everyone agreed that they were a couple.

“However, as soon as they entered, Mia ran up to them, wagging her tail. It was as if she knew, ‘Oh, these are my people.’ And they immediately fell in love with her. I said, ‘Oh, this makes perfect sense.’ Because Mia hasn’t done that to anyone else she’s met before. ” said Shannon Keith, president and founder of the Beagle Freedom Project.

Last month, mom Mia went to the Beagle Freedom Project in Los Angeles with her 8 newborn puppies, but now she has a new mom and dad.

Prince Harry and Meghan have brought her back to their home in California, where she will join a Beagle friend named ‘Guy’, a rescue in the Lab,”Pula, ” and two human siblings – Archie and Lilibet. She will never know negligence again, for I am sure this royal family will treat the new member of their hairy family like a princess.
