Pre-Inca mummies found in Peru
A pre-Inca mummy has been discovered in Peru that may be up to 1,200 years old.
The well-preserved find was discovered in an underground structure east of Lima, and is believed to date from the pre-Inca Chaclla culture.
The mummy was found in a fetal position, her body and hands tied with ropes. It was surrounded by various offerings, such as urns containing dead plants.
Further carbon dating will be performed on the remains to determine its age.
