And since misoprostol is not subject to recent rulings, it is likely that these companies will begin to supply misoprostol themselves if manufacturers cut off access to mifepristone. This is not ideal, because the combination of drugs produces the best results; Misoprostol alone can cause additional cramps and nausea. But for providers determined to continue helping patients, it’s better than nothing.
