Porsche Taycan Turbo GT revealed – launched on March 11
Porsche will reveal “the most dynamic Taycan of all time” on March 11, 2024, the German automaker has just announced. Details are limited at the moment, but it’s likely the company will reveal a production version of the Taycan prototype passed the Nurburgring Nordschleife for 7 hours 07.55 minutes of dizziness.
As Porsche revealed in January this year, the lap time was recorded in August 2022 by development driver Lars Kern, who drove a Taycan Turbo S equipped with the performance package. The time set by Kern is 26 seconds faster than what he did beforeAt the same time, nearly 18 seconds ahead of the Tesla Model S Plaid.
Along with the launch, Porsche also released a teaser for its upcoming high-performance electric vehicle (EV), rumored to be the Taycan Turbo GT. The blurry image hides many signs but one can clearly see the prominent rear spoiler that is not present on any other Taycan variant. Photos of ‘The Green Hell’ prototype show further aerodynamic upgrades such as a large front splitter as well as details on the bumpers.
After the debut of Taycan upgraded last month, the Turbo S variant now offers up to 952 PS (939 hp or 700 kW) with launch control activated, 190 PS (188 hp or 140 kW) more than before. Thus, the new Turbo S accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 2.4 seconds, down 0.4 seconds compared to the old Turbo S.
The Taycan Turbo GT is expected to have a more powerful powertrain, possibly exceeding or matching the 1,033 PS (1,020 horsepower or 760 kW) output of the Model S Plaid. We’ll know more about the “most dynamic Taycan of all time” next week.
