Philadelphia Phillies burnisher Kyle Schwarber set an MLB single-season record with his 14th home run last Tuesday night. Tampa Bay Rays before being knocked out of the game in the fourth round due to left elbow pain.
In the bottom of the first inning, Schwarber hit a 1-0 fastball off the Rays’ starter. Taj Bradley 437 feet to center field, outrunning Alfonso Soriano, who had 13 home runs in 2003 with the New York Yankees, and giving the Phillies a 1-0 lead.

Schwarber’s 35th home run of the season was the 45th career home run, with 32 home runs since joining the Phillies in 2022.
Schwarber walked to lead off the third inning and appeared to injure his elbow while rushing back to first base after a Tampa Bay catcher’s attempted catch. Logan Driscoll.
He was replaced at designated bat by Kennedy in the fourth inning. After the Phillies’ 9-4 win, manager Rob Thomson said Schwarber had a hyperextended left elbow, as reported by Matt Gelb of The AthleticSchwarber is expected to play Wednesday, depending on his health.
After enduring a 17-game home run drought and hitting just one home run in 23 games, Schwarber is off to an impressive start with seven home runs in his last eight games, including three in his first at-bat in a game.
Schwarber, 31, leads the Phillies in home runs and RBIs (95).
Schwarber has led the way for the Phillies in all 133 games he has started this season. He missed 10 days with a groin strain in early July.
