DC 35/1 in 3 processes: Brar replaces Livingstone. Only one ball is needed in the first three balls. Sarfaraz broke the shackles with a slogan that swept across the line between the players. Throw himself up and Sarfaraz dove down in an instant before wiping daylight out of this. This is a half track and Sarfaraz with a rear foot drive through the covers in four runs. The other four finished when Brar went fully on the pad and Sarfaraz swept it to the good foot barrier.

DC 20/1 in 2 processes: Rabada to share the new ball. Marsh made the most of the opportunity when Rabada volleyed a half-hearted volley, headed over the line and out onto the field. He followed it with six other plants in midwicket although Rabada stretched his length a bit.

DC 5/1 in 1 End: What a Beginning! Warner is on his way back to get a golden duck. Introduced a bit of the outside and Warner has cut this to the point of backwardness. Interestingly, Sarfaraz initially went on strike. But Warner, after seeing Livingstone prepare to do well, demanded that the outcome be changed. Livingstone continues to beat spin-offs even against right-handers.

Both teams are struggling so far for consistency, and further slippage will reduce their chances of reaching the final four. While Delhi Capitals is fifth with an NRR of +0.210, Punjab Kings are in seventh place with 12 points and both teams look confident, having won their last match.
