Participate in the HIMSS Cybersecurity Survey 2022



HIMSS and Healthcare IT News is inviting our cybersecurity professional readers to participate in the HIMSS Cybersecurity Survey 2022.

HIMSS is seeking stakeholder feedback on the current state of the cybersecurity industry – where it is now and where it is headed. Now in its 15th year, the report has tracked the evolution and progress of security and privacy efforts in the healthcare sector amid a rapidly changing landscape of risks and compliance challenges.

Individual responses will be kept confidential; Poll results are published in the aggregate. The survey will end on December 21, 2022.

In early 2023, the results of the survey will be compiled into a report to assess the current cybersecurity environment in the healthcare sector, identify critical needs, and help educate healthcare professionals. policymaking on Capitol Hill and beyond.

Results from past surveys have shown an industry that is evolving in response to rapidly changing challenges. The 2021 edition, for instance, found that most respondents (57%) said the most important security incidents involved phishing – not just email scams, but face-to-face, phishing. voice/vishing scams, whaling, business email compromises, SMS scams, social media scams and more.

However, even when cybercriminals are targeting financial information, stronger security efforts are often hampered by tight budgets. Other challenges include – and continue to include – legacy technology footprints, patchy security controls, and other inefficient processes and technologies.
