Opportunity in a scheduled riding practice workshop


Opportunities in the Equestrian Practice Workshop, a professional forum created to encourage students to engage in equestrian practice after graduation, will take place from September 1 to 3 at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Lexington.

After a ten-year hiatus, the workshop was re-established to address the emerging crisis of the declining number of veterinary graduates entering the equestrian practice.

The workshop organized the third year veterinary students (Class of 2025) together with practitioners from around the country to present their experiences in areas ranging from general and mixed practice to specialists. board industry, providing an overview of all aspects of equine practice from major hospitals to solo practitioners at nominal cost or at no cost to students. The event is the result of the collaborative efforts of equestrian practitioners from across North America, with additional financial support from industry sponsors and AAEP.

An estimated 200 attendees will be able to engage in interactive discussions with equestrian practitioners and industry partners, tour equine hospitals, local horse farms and Keeneland racetracks and participate in hands-on workshops. OEMS 2023 promises to be an unforgettable experience for all attendees.
