Earlier this year, it was announced that the iconic Turtle Bay resort on the North Shore of Oahu in Hawaii would transformed into Ritz-CarltonPoints and miles enthusiasts greeted the news with enthusiasm as it meant a new Hawaii property would be integrated into Marriott Bonvoy.
The day has come and The Ritz-Carlton O’ahu, Turtle Bay, is finally available for booking with Marriott Bonvoy Points.
Currently, there are bonus nights worth 132,000 points per night across the entire calendar.
Cash prices at the current Ritz-Carlton resort fluctuate wildly throughout the year. The low for 2024—which mostly occurs in the weeks leading up to Christmas—is $665 a night, but soars as much as $1,500 a night during the holidays.
But is The Ritz-Carlton O’ahu, Turtle Bay a good place to use points? Well, it depends.
In August, TPG gives Marriott Bonvoy high marks At 0.85 cents a point, 132,000 Marriott Bonvoy points is worth $1,122. For the cheapest nights in December, you’d pay $845.79 in cash per night, including taxes and fees. So booking those nights with points would cost you about $276 in Marriott Bonvoy points.
On the other hand, the cash price for the busy holiday week is $1,909.81 per night, which is significantly higher than the value of 132,000 Marriott Bonvoy points. For those nights, you’d get a value of about 1.45 cents per Marriott Bonvoy point—significantly higher than TPG’s current valuation of 0.85 cents per point.
People with Chase Ultimate Rewards points (earned through cards like Chase Sapphire Preferred® Cardthe Chase Sapphire Reserve® and Ink Business Preferred® Credit Cardamong others) should know that there is currently a 70% transfer bonus to Marriott Bonvoy. Chase points typically transfer to Marriott Bonvoy at a 1:1 ratio, with the bonus becoming 1.1.7, so transferring 78,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Marriott Bonvoy would result in 132,600 — enough to book a reward night at Turtle Bay.
TPG currently values Chase Ultimate Rewards points at 2.05 cents each, meaning 78,000 Chase points are worth $1,599. That means you could still save money on Christmas or New Year’s in Hawaii.

It’s also worth noting that since the property has just been introduced into the program, these bonus rates may drop; it’s not uncommon to see the entire booking calendar offering the same rate, especially considering Marriott uses a dynamic pricing system..
Why We’re Excited About The Ritz-Carlton O’ahu, Turtle Bay
Before it was announced that Turtle Bay would become a Ritz-Carlton, We went to the resort to evaluateTPG’s director of content, Summer Hull, calls the resort “the crown jewel of Oahu’s North Shore,” and I can attest to that.
This property has beautiful pools with some of the most stunning ocean views I’ve ever seen — there are seven different beaches within walking distance. The area is known for its great surfing. You can watch world-class surfers catch larger-than-life waves or learn to surf in the much gentler part of the ocean.
Many bars and restaurants are always full or have a pina colada on hand, and the cowboy-themed luau is not to be missed.
Other great amenities include a spa, golf course, hiking and biking trails, horseback riding opportunities, and even nighttime scuba diving to see what’s underwater as the sun sets.

We’ll have to wait and see if Turtle Bay’s award schedule includes seasonal discounts, but now is definitely a great time to use your Marriott Bonvoy points or Chase Ultimate Rewards points to book a stay at the North Shore resort during the busy and expensive season.
Regardless, The Ritz-Carlton O’ahu, Turtle Bay is a great resort and a great place to earn Marriott Bonvoy points when paying for stays.
