North Queensland GPs have access to Inca .’s care planning platform
The North Queensland Primary Health Network is rolling out a shared care platform for GPs in North Queensland.
The care planning platform, INCA, developed by medical IT company Precedence Health Care, allows medical professionals to manage patient health data, create and monitor care plans, and digital information sharing.
This system allows the creation of Medicare-compliant GP management plans and group care arrangements, which can be automatically shared with the care team. It also allows GPs to assign tasks and send automated reminders for actions to be completed, track and monitor compliance with the plan, and store all approved and shared documents. share in a record.
Furthermore, INCA allows third-party services to enter into group care arrangements without the need for system installation; they can gain access to shared documents by receiving an encrypted link.
NQPHN obtained a 12-month license to use the system on behalf of participating GPs. With new funding, last year’s early adopters of INCA will still be supported for another year while non-participating GPs are given the option to try the system this year as part of the Project. Primary Care Digital and Technology Advancement project.
WHY IT IMPORTANT
The implementation of INCA is part of the NQPHHN’s Continuous Quality Improvement program, which aims to improve access to culturally safe health assessments for First Nations people.
NQPHN CEO Robin Whyte hopes the technology will “improve health outcomes, enhance management and clinical care, while reducing health burdens and preventable hospitalizations of the people of the First Nations.”
