Part of the retreat of climate alerters/forced energy converters is the recognition that carbon-based mineral energy is a vital, magical factor in human progress. BUT, it is disputed, the party cannot continue….
James Hansen knows energy well enough to know what many climate alarmists/forced energy converters don’t: is it concentrated mineral energy or destructive energy. And so he’s almighty with uranium/nuclear power. Wind and sun, thin and discontinuous, unsuitable for work, he has conclude.

… The frequent comparisons between the tobacco and fossil fuel industries are pointless. Fossil fuels are a valuable source of energy that has served mankind…. Fossil fuels have raised living standards in many parts of the world.
He understands energy density in this respect:
One gallon (3.7 liters) of gasoline (gasoline) is equivalent to 400 hours of labor for a healthy adult.
Hansen explain other places:
Fossil fuels are convenient, that’s why we use them, that’s how the world came out of the Middle Ages. I mean, we’ve discovered this amazingly concentrated energy that we can burn and each person now has the equivalent of a few dozen slaves, that’s how they can drive and can have this energy in their home, and it has raised the standard of living. But it comes at a cost and we want energy without the cost. And that entails making those dirty energies more expensive.
But he won’t be discouraged with his present doom view:
But we now understand that the use of fossil fuels comes with an unacceptable cost to young people and future generations.
But with global warming and support for the diverse benefits of CO2 enrichment, this concern can be rectified. Watch this, like the father of the climate alarm system, has a little retreat even on science.
