BYD released the latest over-the-air (OTA) software update for Atto 3 electronic crossover, which is said to offer better range estimation, along with other improvements and optimizations.
The BYD Atto 3 now gets dynamic range estimation, in addition to NEDC’s existing test-based estimates, to reflect real-time range based on your car use.
This different range estimation function can be enabled in the Atto 3’s vehicle settings.
Other changes with this OTA software update include:
- Improved ventilation function after the air compressor is turned off to prevent fogging after shutting down in cooler temperatures
- Optimized DC charging power, prolonging high-power charging time
- Improved DC charging gun lock communication
- Improved wireless charging capabilities
BYD has been struggling for the past few months with recent updates. Recent additions include Apple CarPlay and Android car, mobile app connectionNative navigation and conversational voice prompts.
The BYD Atto 3 is the first electric vehicle (EV) the company sells in Australia. Local deliveries of the electric crossover began last September.
