New AI Research Helps Enhance Ambulance Response, Skin Cancer Screening

Enhance ambulance response using ML

New research at Victoria University of Wellington seeks to apply machine learning models to improve emergency response times.

Supported by a grant from New Zealand’s Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, the research is developing ML models to analyze an emergency and its urgency to identify ambulances who can respond appropriately in an emergency. Minimize response time.

“There is a clear link between patient mortality and response times. Our goal is to improve the average response time of emergency services to make better use of existing resources to ensure they are available to those who need them most. Literally every minute counts,” explains Jordan MacLachlan, author of the study and a PhD student in computer science at Victoria University of Wellington.

Combining 3D Whole Body, AI for Faster Melanoma Screening
