Neta X will be CKD in Thailand for domestic consumption and export to Malaysia – from RM96k-RM103k
According to a report by Car NewsChinaThe Neta X will be manufactured (CKD) in Thailand at the Bangchan joint assembly plant, along with the V-II that rolled off the assembly line a few months ago in March this year.
The X units produced in Thailand will be sold domestically as well as exported to Malaysia, with both countries simultaneously launching electric vehicles (EVs) last week. The first batch of deliveries will be completely imported (CBU) from China before local production begins in these respective markets.
Neta’s first manufacturing plant outside China is located in Thailand, while Indonesia is home to the company’s second plant at the Pondok Ungu plant in Bekasi, West Java – CKD V-II production began there in late April this year.
Malaysia is the third location in the Chinese automaker’s global manufacturing network, although the facility is not expected to be operational until at least March 2025. When it is ready, NexV Manufacturing (NMSB) CKD Assembly Plant In Rembau, Negeri Sembilan will start with V-II (also known as Aya) before X is added in October 2025.
In Malaysia, X is offered in three variants (400 Comfort, 400 Luxury, 500 Luxury) and retail prices range from RM119,888 to RM135,888. Meanwhile, Thailand gets two variants – Comfort and Smart – priced at 739,000 baht (about RM96k) and 799,000 baht (RM103k) respectively.
Regardless of variant, the X comes standard with a front-mounted electric motor in both versions. Rated at 163 PS (161 hp or 120 kW) and 210 Nm of torque, the X has a 0-100 km/h time of just under 9.5 seconds and a top speed of 150 km/h. Battery capacity is the same, too, with a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) unit providing a range of 401 km (51.8 kWh) or 480 km (62 kWh) according to the NEDC.
