More than 211,000 Dodge Durangos and Ram trucks are being recalled to fix stability control problems



Stellantis is remember more than 211,000 SUVs and pickup truck to fix a software problem that could disable the vehicle’s electronic stability control system. The recall covers certain vehicles from each model year 2022 — Dodge Durangos and the heavy-duty Ram 2500-3500 truck.

Document of National Road Traffic Safety Administration said these trucks may have problems with the anti-lock system brake control module – could therefore cause failure in stability control, an important safety feature. This may create the risk of an incident occurring.

A spokesperson for Stellantis said the company conducted an investigation and discovered the issue after a “routine review of customer feedback” uncovered the problem. The Company is not aware of any related injuries or accidents.

A total of 211,581 vehicles – produced between April 2021 and December 2022 – are expected to have this defect. The company has a very specific number of affected vehicles: 524 Ram 3500s157,890 Ram 2500s and 53,167 Dodge Durangos.

In addition, 17,462 vehicles in Canada, 2,313 vehicles in Mexico and another 5,023 vehicles in markets outside North America will be recalled.

Dealers will update the anti-lock brake control module software. Like all recalls, Repair will be done for free. Agents and owners can expect to receive notification letters by the end of July. Until then, drivers can find out if their specific vehicle is included in this recall by using NHSTA recalls website and/or Look up Chrysler recalls. You will need to enter your VIN, so have it ready.
