More attractive all-wheel drive BMW M4 in action – report

The M4 range may be suitable to receive a heater CS variant, with more power but lighter weight than the M4 Competition.

snack forum users ynguldynwho claims to compile future product information from leaks inside BMW, says the M4 CS will enter production in July 2024 and be in production until June 2025.

It’s the same production duration as the M3 CS, due to be here at the end of the year.

The M4 CS is said to offer the same specs as M3 CSbut have different headlights.

The report comes after comments made by BMW M CEO Frank van Meel last year, reported by Blog BMWthat “there is still room” for the M4 CS to be sold alongside the M3 CS.

In a nutshell, the M3 CS builds on the Competition with an upgraded inline-six engine, a retuned chassis, and extensive use of carbon fiber.

The six-tuned 3.0-liter M TwinPower Turbo delivers 30 kW more than the M3 and Competition M4, bringing it to 405kW over a wider range. Torque remains at the highest level of 650Nm but in CS it is maintained longer, up to nearly 6000 rpm.

Changes under the bonnet include higher intake pressure for the turbocharger, redesigned racks, and M4 GT3 DTM passenger car-inspired features such as lighter cylinder bores, a power steering system, and more. Supply and cooling of track-specific oil.

Acceleration time from 0 to 100 km / h is announced to be reduced by 1/10 to 3.4 seconds, while the 0-200 km / h mark is achieved in 11.1 seconds. The electronically controlled top speed is 302km/h.

Power is sent to the road via an eight-speed M Steptronic automatic transmission, with an M xDrive variable all-wheel drive and a rear-biased all-wheel drive and an Active M rear differential.

There are also “model-specific” settings to control stability, springs, anti-roll bars, steering and electronically controlled dampers.

Other standard specs for the special edition model include M Compound brakes with red or black painted brake calipers – M Carbon ceramic brakes are optional – and new black or gold forged light-alloy wheels in size 19. inch front and 20 inch rear.

The standard track tire, developed for the CS, measures 275/35 ZR19 at the front and 285/30 ZR20 at the rear. More road-friendly tires are a free option.

Weight-saving decisions include a carbon fiber roof, bonnet, front splitter, front air intakes, exterior mirror caps, rear diffuser and rear spoiler. This material is also used for the center console, gearshift paddles and inlay details.

The standard M Carbon bucket seats also try to keep the weight down, as does the titanium rear silencer. Various light weight measures save about 20kg in total.

Inside, there are M Carbon heated and power-adjustable bucket seats with exclusive surface and seam patterns. There is also the latest generation iDrive based on BMW Operating System 8, which includes the BMW Curved Monitor (12.3-inch cluster and 14.9-inch touchscreen) for the cockpit.

The mentioned M4 CS should not be confused with M4 CSLan even more powerful two-seat version with the same outputs as the CS but with only two seats and rear-wheel drive instead of four-wheel drive.

The M4 CS will not only participate in the limited run CSL, but will also participate in a growing range of M4 variants. In Australia, there are Competition coupes and rear-wheel drive bases, as well as all-wheel drive competitive M xDrive coupes and convertibles.
