Modern Warfare II Multiplayer & Warzone 2.0 Details Revealed – PlayStation.Blog

Attention all PlayStation players! Prepare for the next era of Call of Duty. At the Call of Duty: Next showcase event, new details emerged regarding the October 28 release of Modern War II and the release later this year of Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0. Both titles promise loads of innovation and evolving gameplay.

Let’s take a look at some of the newly revealed features, as well as additional Modern Warfare II pre-order deals exclusively for PlayStation.

Modern Warfare II Multiplayer Improvements

After years of development, Modern Warfare II has gone through many iterations, delivering a series of evolutionary changes in technology and design.

Swimming and Underwater Combat: Plunge into the water to flank and attack enemies. With increased density, water affects combat dynamics. Learn to use secondary weapons and certain equipment to achieve your aquatic goals.

Advanced motion options: Slide or dolphin dive to the floor, providing more ways to get started. For vertical movements, use a ledge, which gives you more freedom to explore your environment while climbing.

Use new media: Test drive brand new vehicles like UTVs, Light Tanks, Heavy Cargo Vehicles, Tactical Vehicles and Rigid Inflatable Boats. Vehicles have more interactive and destructive elements than ever before.

New Equipment, Field Upgrades, and Perks: Test out new Field Upgrades such as Tactical Cameras, Impact Sticks, Drill Fees, DDoS, and Steam Baits. Equip new Perks Packs, which include two Base Perks plus Bonuses and Ultimate Perks earned during the match.

Blacksmith’s Weapon Platform: Earn Weapon Platform Attachments shared across all weapons in the same platform, as well as Universal Attachments shared across all related weapons.

New mode: Play Ground War and the new player and AI Mixed Invasion, and experience new modes like Knockout, Prisoner Rescue, and a new Third-Person playlist for changing perspectives.

Activation range: Available at launch, Firing Range is an offline test range with three firing lanes, ledges to cover, and multiple targets at different ranges.

Special activities: Continue the story after Operation Modern Warfare II ended in a branching cooperative experience that lets you explore large-scale hot zones with your teammates.

Assault: Coming later this year after launch, Raids is a new experience for the franchise, a cooperative challenge that requires teamwork and strategy like never before.

Innovations in Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0

Preparing to deploy to Al Mazrah, the vast and meticulously crafted new map debuts with Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 as part of Modern Warfare II Season One.

New modes of transport: In addition to using the new swimmer, you will also have the opportunity to control more than a dozen unique vehicles. Occupy gas stations and search for gas canisters to keep your fuel reserves at their peak.

Shop: Advanced Buy Station allows you to buy back teammates; purchase equipment such as Gas Masks, Killstreaks and Armor; and buy and upgrade weapons. You can also sell valuable loot for Cash.

Collapse circles: A storm gradually covered the Al Mazrah landscape. Expect variations to traditional collapse, such as anomalies of weather patterns that split the safe zone into multiple zones before coalescing into a single safe zone.

Gulag: Start with just your fists, loot and fight in a 2v2 multi-level arena for a chance to get back on the map. Also, get rid of “Jailer” and use his key to escape.

AI Warriors and Strongholds: Test your skills by attempting to conquer a Stronghold, with a high density of AI warriors ready to defend the loot within.

DMZ: Compete in the all-new sandbox experience launched with Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0. Stay tuned for more.
