The SKDS 2.0 subsidy facility is offered specifically to owners of eligible logistics vehicles, whose applications have been approved under the SKDS 2.0 scheme but are yet to receive a fleet tag for the subsidy diesel.

Eligible applicants can apply through Budi Madani websiteand successful bidders will be refunded the price difference between the current floating price of RM3.35/litre and the subsidized SKDS 2.0 price of RM2.15/litre for diesel purchased from 10 June 2024, up to the monthly maximum according to the Department’s schedule.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the terms and conditions of the temporary refund mechanism are:

  • Owners of eligible logistics vehicles must have their SKDS 2.0 application approved by the Ministry of Commerce and Domestic Cost of Living by June 30, 2024 and have not yet received a fleet card.
  • Applications for fleet tags must be submitted to participating fuel station operators by July 15, 2024.
  • Requests will be accepted from July 1, 2024 onwards.
  • The reimbursement is based on the maximum volume (litres) of diesel fuel consumed per claim submission, with each submission covering the cost for one month.
  • Diesel purchase receipts must be retained for audit purposes.
  • The Ministry of Finance will return successful claims within 15 working days.
  • This temporary refund mechanism is intended to cover additional spending starting June 10, 2024 until the group card is received or for up to two months, whichever comes first.

Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah was quoted as saying that the reimbursement mechanism aims to support eligible logistics businesses in line with the targeted diesel subsidy scheme, thus mitigating the risk of price increases for essential commodities.

“The targeted diesel subsidy program aims to tackle leaks and ensure support is targeted. This will enhance the management and efficiency of public finances as we strive to promote national prosperity as envisioned under the Madani Economy framework,” he said.

Currently, 23 commercial logistics vehicles are eligible to participate in the SKDS 2.0 subsidy program and the government is urging owners of these vehicles to quickly apply to participate in the program to prevent cost escalation. transport fee.
