Mike Tyson had a medical emergency on a cross-country flight, everything was fine

Those who fear for Mike Tyson’s health when he faces Jake Paul on July 20 are probably feeling more nervous than ever.

Tyson, who will be 58 when he steps into the ring, suffered an ulcer that flared up on a flight from Miami to Los Angeles on Sunday. According to reports, he complained of severe pain, as well as nausea and dizziness.

The flight attendant made an announcement near the end of the flight asking if there was a doctor on board, In Touch Weekly reported. Medical staff boarded the plane after it landed.

Tyson’s representative said he was fine immediately after the incident.

“Fortunately, Mr. Tyson is doing very well,” representatives said in a statement to the media. “He became nauseous and dizzy as a result of the ulcer flare-up 30 minutes before landing,” “He was very appreciative of the medical staff who were on hand to help him.”

Tyson will face Paul in an eight-round bout at AT&T Stadium outside Dallas, home of the Cowboys.

The former heavyweight champion fought Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition in 2020 but hasn’t fought in an actual fight – one that would count towards his record – since he was stopped by Kevin McBride in 2005.

Tyson (50-6, 44 KO) will have a huge advantage in experience compared to Paul, a boxer turned YouTuber. And Paul competed in the cruiserweight division, with a 200-pound limit.

However, Paul (9-1, 6 KOs) will be 31 years younger than his opponent, which is why some people are concerned for “Iron Mike”’s safety.

The pay-per-view fight will be streamed on Netflix.
