Michelle Obama shared a sweet birthday wish to Barack

Last weekend, Barack Obama celebrated his 63rd birthday, adding a sweet dose of celebration to the typically chaotic world of American politics. Of course, his wife Michelle Obama posted a sweet tribute—being married for more than three decades means some obligatory birthday traditions—via a never-before-seen photo showing the happy couple hiking together.

In the photo, Michelle is wearing a black tank top with black leggings and the former president is wearing a Sporty Spice-approved black and white outfit, which includes shorts and a short-sleeved top. They wear matching hats as they pretend to push a boulder while surrounded by rugged landscapes set against a clear blue sky.

“Happy birthday to the love of my life, @BarackObama!” Michelle captioned the post. “May you weather life’s storms and move mountains together. ❤️”

Social media tributes between the couple are nothing new. Last year, when the couple celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary, Michelle posted a similarly sweet message on social mediawrote, “31 years and a whole life ahead of me. I love spending it with you by my side, @BarackObama. Happy anniversary, my love! ❤️.”

About me, Barack wrote“Happy anniversary, baby! @MichelleObama, you’re smart, kind, funny, and beautiful—and I’m so lucky to call you mine.”

But even one of the most beloved couples in the public eye can face some bumps in the road. According to Tonight’s entertainmentMichelle shared about her marriage in a control panel with Revolt TV with Kelly Rowland, HER, Winnie Harlow, Tina Knowles-Lawson and Angie Martinez in December 2022. She explained that things were difficult when her children were young. They share two daughters: Malia, 25, and Sasha, 23.

“People think I’m being mean when I say this—like, there was 10 years when I couldn’t stand my husband,” Michelle says. “And guess when that happened? When the kids were little.”

“We were trying to build our careers and, you know, worrying about school and who’s doing what and what, I was like, ‘Ugh, this isn’t even supposed to be,'” she finished. “And guess what? Marriage is not 50/50, never, never. There were times when I was 70, he was 30. There were times when he was 60, 40, but guess what? 10 years — we’ve been married 30 years. I’d take 10 bad years over 30 years — it’s just how you look at it.”
