Michael Strahan Announces Blue Origin Flight Plan: ‘I’m Going to Space!’



Former NFL star Michael Strahan has officially left this world.

During “Good Morning America” ​​on Tuesday, Strahan confirmed he’ll be one of six passengers joining Jeff Bezos on the Blue Origin flight into space on December 9. He confirmed that He has already begun preparing for the flight as a guest of honor and is planning to travel to West Texas for further training.

“Blue Origin approached me and asked if I wanted to be a crew member,” Strahan said on Tuesday morning. “Without hesitation, I said yes.”

Strahan is scheduled to launch Blue Origin’s third crewed flight into space this year at 9:30 a.m. CT on December 9. The flight will mark the first time Blue Origin has filled it all up. six seats on the rocket and its sleeper capsule, as in previous trips outside the atmosphere filled only four seats.

“I want to go to space,” Strahan explained when asked what made him want to join this journey. “I thought being there for the first launch was really cool… and I just wanted to leave it. I was really mesmerized by the first flight that I saw.”

Strahan will be joined by guest of honor Laura Shephard Churchley. The four paying clients are venture capitalist Lane Bess and his son Cameron, investor Evan Dick and angel investor and Voyager Space CEO Dylan Taylor.

Since spending 15 seasons in the NFL with the Giants, Strahan has continued his professional career as a television co-broadcast for Good Morning America. As an honorary crew member, Strahan will receive an allowance that will be donated to the Boys and Girls Club, according to ABC.
