Michael Jackson’s grandson, Jaafar Jackson, will portray him in biopic


Lionsgate took on the challenge of portraying a legend Michael Jackson in an upcoming biopic of the same name. And the main actor, Michael’s nephew Jaafar Jackson, created some buzz around the project. The 26-year-old singer-songwriter is the son of Jermaine Jackson.

Posing in a classic Michael move and style, Jaafar reacted to the casting on his Instagram feed. He wrote:

“I am humbled and honored to bring the story of my uncle Michael to life. To all the fans around the world, I will see you soon.”

“They found the perfect and only person who could play my uncle in this Biopic. I cried with pride after watching Jaafar’s hair/makeup test yesterday. He’s not just the embodiment of Michael Jackson…he’s got the tone, the rhythm of the voice, the style, EVERYTHING!”

Last August, Taj received media coverage after he called for Rolling Stone for naming Harry Styles the ‘New King of Pop’, a title MJ fans have long defended upon his death. Taj argued that the title was dropped, due to Jackson’s “Decades of dedication and sacrifice.”
