Mazda Australia has withdrawn 860 examples Later CX-60 And CX-90 diesel SUV to troubleshoot transmission related problems.
“Due to a software issue in the transmission control module, if the brake pedal is pressed hard to stop the vehicle, the engine and electric motor clutches may remain disengaged during deceleration,” the recall notice says.
“If this occurs, power from the engine or electric motor may not be transmitted when the accelerator pedal is pressed.”
“If power is not transmitted from the engine or electric motor when the accelerator pedal is pressed, this may increase the risk of serious injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.”
