Mazda CX-60 2023 launched in Singapore – Only 2.5L NA; more expensive than the CX-8; SGD279k with COE
Singapore is the second ASEAN country after Philippines launches Mazda CX-60available in a single variant priced at SGD 278,888 (approximately RM959k) including Certificate of Interest (COE).
While the CX-60 in the Philippines has two 3.3-liter mild-hybrid engine options (petrol and diesel), both with all-wheel drive, the SUV in Singapore is rear-wheel drive only and is powered by a 2.5-liter Skyactiv-G naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine.
Under the national Vehicle Emissions Enhancement (VES) Program effective from January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2023, the CX-60 is in the C1 range and incurs a surcharge of SGD 15,000 (approximately RM52k).
The factory Skyactiv-G outputs 191 PS (189 hp or 141 kW) at 6,000 rpm and 261 Nm of torque at 3,000 rpm – slightly more power than in Japan – and is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The CX-60 is the brand’s first model built on the Skyactiv Multi-Solution Scalable Architecture with a rear-wheel drive, vertical engine layout.
In terms of equipment, the Singapore CX-60 comes standard with 20-inch wheels (with 235/50 tires), adaptive LED headlights, a power tailgate with hands-free access, a power-sliding panoramic sunroof, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a head-up display, a 12.3-inch infotainment screen (with Android Auto), wired smart locks, wireless Apple CarPlay and Apple CarPlay audio systems. starter as well as electric front seats.
In terms of driver assistance and safety systems, the SUV comes with front and rear parking sensors, seven airbags, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, blind spot monitor, front and rear cross-traffic alert, 360-degree camera with see-through vision, front and rear automatic emergency braking and adaptive cruise control.
Customers can choose from eight body colors, namely Soul Red Crystal Metallic, Machine Gray Metallic, Rhodium White Metallic, Platinum Quartz Metallic, Sonic Silver Metallic, Deep Crystal Blue Mica, Jet Black Mica and Arctic White. Meanwhile, the interior color is Gray and Black.
With the launch, the CX-60 is currently the most expensive Mazda model available in Singapore based on the price list on the local website. Ignoring models listed as “price on app” like the CX-30 and MX-5 RF, only the CX-8 with a six-seat configuration is close to the CX-60 with an asking price of 256,888 SGD (about RM883,000).
On the Malaysian side, there is still no official confirmation from Bermaz Motor (the official distributor of Mazda cars in Malaysia) that the CX-60 will be launched here. With its positioning as a more premium product, it will cost more than the three-row CX-8 we have here despite being a five-seater, if that’s the case.
