Mass shooting at Club Q in Colorado Springs



Several victims of the Club Q shooting are in critical condition and being treated in hospital intensive care units, officials from Penrose Hospital and the UCHealth Memorial Hospital system told reporters. reporter on Sunday.

Penrose Hospital medical director Dr Bill Plauth said seven victims were taken to his hospital with the other two in critical condition. Intensive care means life-threatening injuries, he added.

“Five other patients mainly suffered limb injuries and two have been treated and returned to the community,” he said. “Others have been admitted to the hospital, are still being treated.”

Dr. David Steinbruner, of the UCHealth Memorial Hospital system, said his medical center has received a total of 10 patients.

“Both trauma teams in both hospitals were formed and responded, the ERs responded and we were able to address this very quickly and provide the best patient care possible at that time,” he said.

“We also have patients in critical condition,” Steinbruner said. “Some people are being cared for in our ICU.”

The injured victims were transported to three different hospitals, according to Fire Chief Randy Royal.

Royal said Centura Penrose Hospital received 7 patients, UCHealth Memorial Central Hospital received 10 patients and UCHealth Memorial Hospital North received 2 patients.
