Maclean’s Music Colt Topping FT Sells for $500,000


A prominent chestnut Maclean’s Music The colt (Hip 170) took the top spot at the Fasig-Tipton July Auction after selling for $500,000 on July 9 to John Stewart’s Resolute Bloodstock.

Gainesway sold the colt on behalf of Bridlewood Farm, who bred and bred him. The colt is out of Jotown, a mare from Speightstown, who is out of a Grade 1, Grade 2 Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure (Pioneerof the Nile). Jojo Warrior is a half-sister to the Grade 1 winner AZ Warrior (Bernardini), 3rd place winner EZ Warrior (Mining) and multiple award winner JZ Warrior (Harlan’s Vacation).

“I personally think this foal is the type of horse that has the potential to be a top seller and I hope we keep it that way. Needless to say, this is a great result,” said George Isaacs, general manager of Bridlewood Farm near Ocala, Fla. “This mare’s first foal, a Twirling Candy colt, won on his first start and this one is just as good, if not better.”

Razor blades Jotown’s first foal, won by two lengths on June 13 at the Churchill Downs for Wathnan Racing owner and trainer Steve Asmussen.
