- Lucid Says Gravity SUV Will Get NACS Charging Ports by 2025

- Lucid hasn’t said when the Air sedan will get a NACS charging port.
Lucid has just released a timeline for its transition to Tesla’s North American Charging System (NACS) charging ports.
On Tuesday, during the automaker’s manufacturing and technology day, Lucid posted on Twitter (now called X) that is coming soon Gravity Electric SUV will come with Tesla NACS charging port begin by 2025.
The announcement comes with two images that show the NACS port will be mounted on the driver’s side rear fender. The location of the charging port differs from the pre-production Gravity units being assembled today, which have the CCS charging port on the driver’s side front fender.
The new charging port location is in the same area on the car where Tesla places its charging ports, allowing the car to back neatly into a parking space at Tesla Supercharger.

Twitter users were quick to notice the new charging port door and housing are larger than what’s needed for the smaller NACS port, but the reason could be to make room for the CCS2 port more easily, which is the fast charging standard in Europe.
Lucid says deliveries of the Gravity SUV will begin later this year, which means the first cars to go to customers will still have CCS charging ports, likely in the front fenders as originally pictured, and seen on prototype.
Lucid never said when. Convertible will move to the NACS charging port or where the charging port will move on the sedan. The automaker also did not show a full image of the Gravity with the NACS port. The front half of the car, where the CCS charging port is today, is missing.

During the event Lucid tweeted an image of it Mid-size electric SUV coming soon is about the same size as the Tesla Model Y. The automaker says the SUV will launch in late 2026 and cost less than $50,000.
