The first of three purebred day meetings this year at Los Alamitos will begin on Friday, June 23. The nine-day Los Angeles County Fairgrounds season will continue through Sunday, July 9.
The race will be conducted on Friday-Sunday (June 23-25) of the first week, Saturday-Tuesday (1-4 July) of the second week and Saturday-Sunday (8). -9 July) weekend ends. Posting time is 1pm The highlight of the meetup will be the Great Lady M. Staking guaranteed $200,000 at a rate of 6 ½ seconds. Class II for mares and mares (age 3 and up) will be held on Tuesday, July 4.
The other two stakes that will be made are the $100,000 guaranteed Bertrando for children 3 years of age or older bred or bred in California and the $125,000 guaranteed Los Alamitos Derby. The cost to enter is $500. Of that amount, $100 will go to the contest prize pool with the remaining $400 going to a live money bet card. Tournament races will include the entire Los Alamitos card. Allowed bets are win, place, show, exact, triple and daily doubles. Each entry must bet at least $50 for a minimum of five races, but there is no bet limit.
