Kylian Mbappe preparing to sue old club Paris Saint Germain if the French giants refuse to pay him the money he is owed, according to the player’s mother, Fayza Lamari.
Sources told ESPN French National Championship 1 the champion is still not paid for Mbappe 80 million euros ($86 million) in bonuses plus two months’ salary in 2024.
Mbappe, 25 years old, left PSG after his contract expired in June and join Real Madrid as a free agent on a five-year contract.
When asked if Mbappé was ready to take PSG to court, Lamari told Le Parisien that reported in Diario AS: “If we have no other choice, then of course. Now, I really hope that the contract we signed two years ago will be respected.
“Let’s stop saying that Kylian said or didn’t say, he did this or didn’t do that… In reality, no one can say what happened, neither me nor the representatives of PSG because for two years Kylian and [club] chairperson [Nasser Al-Khelaifi] always met alone, except once.
“And all that hasn’t stopped Kylian from playing since the announcement. [made by Mbappé to PSG of his departure] was made in February …”
Sources told ESPN that PSG will not pay Mbappé the money he is entitled to in order to recover the money lost when he leaves, something sources say Mbappé agreed with PSG in August.
Lamari compares his son’s situation with PSG to a divorce.
“It’s all in the hands of Kylian’s representatives now,” she said. “But I believe PSG will quickly get things back to normal. We’ve just received a letter… A decision will be made.
“Sometimes when you break up, you have to decide who gets the TV, who gets the furniture or the car… That’s where we are now. I hope that all this doesn’t tarnish everything we’ve been through, that we don’t leave it like this.
“Just like in a couple, again, things are never rosy, there are ups and downs. But in six months, things will be better.”
Mbappe, who has announced in Madrid this weekalmost joined the Spanish giants two years ago but changed his mind at the last minute and signed a new contract with PSG until June 2024, a decision he has no regrets about.
“When you’re born in Paris and grow up in Bondy, playing at the Parc des Princes is a big event,” said Lamari.
“Kylian never lied. He always told [PSG] The president said that one day he would go to Real Madrid. Of course, when that happens, things will be very complicated. But apart from Madrid, I will never leave Paris.
