KKR team acquires Abu Dhabi Knights Templar team in UAE T20 tournament
Kolkata Knight Riders on Thursday acquired the business rights to the UAE’s upcoming T20 cricket tournament.
Knight Riders Group acquired the rights to run and form the Abu Dhabi Knights Team in a six-team tournament. The premier league is expected to host top players from all top cricket playing countries.

It will be the fourth brand owned by the group, having established the successful Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2008 and the Trinbago Knight Riders in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) in 2015. They also acquired a team. in Major League Cricket (MLC) in the United States, where it will establish a Los Angeles franchise.
Speaking about his franchise acquisition, owner Shah Rukh Khan said: “For several years now, we have been expanding the Knight Riders brand globally and closely monitoring the potential of cricket. T20 in the UAE. We are very excited about being a part of the UAE T20 Football League, which is sure to turn out to be a huge success.”
