Kia Niro, Sportage and Sorento recalled
that is recalling more than 7000 vehicles nationwide Niro, Sportage and Sorento as they may not warn the driver that seat belts are not fastened in the cabin.
“Due to a software issue, the instrument cluster may not illuminate the visual seat belt warning required by the Australian Design Code (ADR) 04/06,” the company said in the recall notice.
“If the driver is not aware that the seat belt is not fastened, there is an increased risk of injury or death in the event of a vehicle crash.
“The vehicle does not comply with the Australian Design Code 04/06.”
If you own an affected vehicle, you will need to make an appointment at a Kia dealer for the free instrument cluster software update.
