The Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) has released its vehicle sales data for July 2024, which showed a total of 71,730 vehicles were delivered to customers. According to the association, this figure is 24% higher than the 58,046 vehicles recorded in the previous year. June 2024.
A longer working month and the launch of new models were cited as reasons behind the increase in car sales. The latter, last month saw brands such as Mercedes Benz, smart, SMALL, Great Wall Engine, Jaecoo, Lexus Cars, Net And Suzuki adding to its product portfolio, although some models were introduced near the end of the month.
In terms of year-on-year changes, the number of vehicles sold in July 2024 was 11% higher than the 64,790 vehicles recorded in the same month of 2023. Similarly, total industry sales in the first seven months of this year were 462,088 vehicles, 7% higher than the same period last year with 430,966 vehicles registered.
In August 2024, the association expects sales to maintain growth momentum, thanks to promotional campaigns launched by a number of automakers on the occasion of the upcoming National Day.
